Every year we use the autumn and winter months to improve the hotel, and this year was no different. A few days ago we reopened after another round of renovation. Naturally we documented how it went. Have a look at what has been going on here. We look forward to hearing what you think once you see it in person as our guests.
What has changed?
We are very glad that the hotel keeps changing for the better. Preparations for the renovation began back in September with a clear aim: to brighten, liven up and open up our hotel restaurant, and to modernise the spa. We started work on 19 October 2023. The whole hotel team joined in, as the rooms had to be made ready for the builders.
At first it seemed...
...it would never end.
The closer the renovation came to the end, the happier we were with it.
What guests will not see at first glance is hidden under the floor: underfloor heating, and several days of work behind it. A crane was even called in to help pour the concrete for the restaurant floor. As well as renovating the restaurant itself, we set about modernising our spa. Specifically, we replaced the tubs used for our baths with additives, and the new ones are more stylish and more comfortable. We will show you the spa and its tubs properly as soon as we can. If you cannot wait until then, come and try them for yourself during one of our treatments.
Heavy machinery was needed too
Without underfloor heating...
...it would not have worked
The restaurant has gained a new door opening to the outside, which will play a part in further projects and improvements in future. In future we plan to add a conservatory. For now, the door, which among other things has a playful coloured stained-glass panel, brings more natural light into the restaurant, and in the warmer months the room will feel more connected to the surrounding nature and to our sunny, colourful terrace.
New artworks have arrived too
In the restaurant you can now see more works by the acclaimed artist Tilo Ettl, whose works you will come across throughout the hotel. The restaurant has also been brightened with new wallpaper and light-coloured paint on the walls. New large-format white and grey floor tiles add further variety to the interior. And while we were modernising the hotel and getting it ready for the first guests after the renovation, Swissík was gradually getting into the Christmas spirit.
