The modern Vizar winery lies on the banks of the River Duero in the village of Villabañez. It is owned by the Zarzuela family, who have 80 hectares of vineyards. They focus mainly on Tempranillo, alongside the French varieties Syrah, Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon. Vizar farms organically, so as to express the distinctive terroir of the Ribera del Duero region as fully and faithfully as possible.

As early as the end of the 19th century it was known that Nebbiolo from the Barbaresco area was very different in character from Nebbiolo grown elsewhere in Piedmont. Langhe Nebbiolo from Produttori del Barbaresco is a young Nebbiolo, balanced, fresh and honest, the result of winemaking built on experience. It is fermented in concrete tanks and then aged for 6 months in large oak casks. The colour is an intense ruby red with garnet glints. The nose shows clear notes of ripe red fruit, white pepper and aniseed. On the palate it is balanced and full, with a very long finish and good acidity.
