The Karlovy Vary Region has more golf courses than any other region in the country, which makes it the Czech golfer's paradise. Once you have tried the course in Mariánské Lázně, another one is only a few minutes away by car. What can you expect from the local courses?
Royal Golf Mariánské Lázně
The oldest course in the Czech Republic was built on the model of Irish and Scottish parkland courses. It was formally opened in 1905, and the honour fell to the English king Edward VII himself. As Boutique Hotel SwissHouse we also have our own hole on the course, the 9th. We are duly proud of it, especially our hotel director David Folprecht, a keen golfer and a member of the Royal Golf Club.
The course is one of the most demanding in the Czech Republic and is rightly called a championship course. In recognition of the historic ties between the British royal family and Mariánské Lázně, Queen Elizabeth II granted the club its royal title in 2003. That made it one of two royal golf clubs outside the Commonwealth.
⛳ Holes over 350 m (blue tees): 1, 2, 6, 11, 12, 17, 18

Golf Club Kynžvart
Golf Club Kynžvart is an 18-hole course and one of the most beautiful, and also one of the youngest, in West Bohemia. Golfers consider it very demanding because of its many water hazards and its rolling terrain. The club was founded between 2004 and 2008, and construction of the course began in those years too. During your round you walk through gardens, past streams, waterfalls and mature trees, and play in places steeped in history. The second half also gives you a grand view of the Český les (Upper Palatine Forest) and the Slavkov Forest. Taken as a whole, this varied course is a balanced mix of tradition and a modern approach that will suit golf professionals, amateur players and keen recreational golfers alike.
⛳ Holes over 350 m (blue tees): 3, 7, 12, 15, 16

Golf Resort Cihelny
This 18-hole Scottish-style course is in Cihelny, not far from Karlovy Vary, in the Slavkov Forest Protected Landscape Area. You will like it both for the beautiful countryside around it and for its first-rate facilities. It is a more technical course and of the highest standard. Rather than length, it stands out for its many water hazards and its natural and man-made obstacles. The course was formally opened in 2001, and four years later the respected magazine Golf Digest C&S named it the Best Quality Course of the Year.

Golf Resort Karlovy Vary
One of the oldest golf resorts in Bohemia and in Central Europe lies 5 km from Karlovy Vary. The 18-hole Karlovy Vary course hosts major European tournaments. The course was recently renovated and a clubhouse was built, so it feels like a modern course despite its long history. Players will find both calm and some dramatic spots to play here.
